Rev. Dr. Todd C. Davidson is the son of the late Calvert Davidson and Doris Davidson of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and the youngest of three children. Dr. Davidson enthusiastically serves as the Senior Pastor of the Historic Antioch Baptist Church of Cleveland, Ohio. He is excitedly married to Mrs. Laia Elizabeth and the father of three beautiful daughters Cana, Reaiah, and Ajah. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, in Government and Elementary Education, from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, a Master of Divinity Degree, in Theology (Magna Cum Laude Graduate) from The Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, and an earned Doctoral Degree in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership, from the College of William and Mary.
In addition to his current duties as Senior Pastor, Dr. Davidson holds an Adjunct Faculty appointment at Cleveland State University in the School of Education’s Center for Educational Leadership. He also serves on the Shaker Heights Board of Education; the Board of Directors for Starting Point, Incorporated; on the Board of Trustees for the Friends of Cleveland School of the Arts; the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Opportunity Corridor Inclusion Advisory Committee; and on the Advisory Committee for the Spiritual Wellness and Counseling program at John Carroll University. In November, 2014, Dr. Davidson was appointed by Governor John Kasich to the State of Ohio’s Community Connectors Advisory Board. In May, 2006, and November, 2010, Dr. Davidson was elected by the citizens of Virginia Beach, Virginia and the providence of God, to the School Board of Virginia Beach City Public Schools. As a result of his 2006 victory, Dr. Davidson became the youngest person to win an election in the history of the city of Virginia Beach. His community service ventures, in Virginia Beach, included past service on the following boards and committees: the WHRO Educational Advisory Board, the ACCESS College Foundation Board of Directors, the Board of Directors for the Seton Youth Shelters Inc., the Mayor’s Committee for the Disabled, the Equity Council for Virginia Beach City Public Schools, the National African American School Board Member Association, The National Association for the Supervision of Curriculum and Development (ASCD), the National and Virginia School Boards Association, 200 Plus Men Inc., the Virginia Beach Interdenominational Ministers’ Conference, and the Inter-faith Advisory Board.
While in Virginia, Dr. Davidson received numerous awards for his community service and commitment to social justice, which included, but were not limited to: The Virginia Beach Human Rights’ Commission Award, the ACT-SO Award for Oratory, The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology Award for Academic Excellence, and the Urban League of Hampton Roads’ Young Professional of the Year Award. He has published both his dissertation research and an essay in a work entitled, The Power of Belief. He is an active member of the NAACP and Kappa Delta Pi, Incorporated (a national honor society for professional educators). Prior to moving to Cleveland, Dr. Davidson also held an appointment as an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education in the School of Education at Norfolk State University. Dr. Todd C. Davidson enjoys spending time with his family, exercising and serving God’s people. His favorite Scripture is Philippians 4:13, which states, “For I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”
